weekly training thread - New years edition :)

Happy New year all! today is the last day of 2012 and it is often a time for reflection and goal setting

so what did you do last year that kicked ass? where did you feel you didn't succeed? what are your goals for 2013?

for me it was a mixed bag. I didn't really have any goals for the year so there was nothing for me to work for physically. I did stay active and didn't backslide too much when I injured myself. I am working out regularly and plan to keep the habit to do so. I was reminded that it makes me a better person emotionally so I can't NOT be physical on a regular basis as if I am not, I become anxious and that is never fun

I do have a couple goals this year. 

1. I want to do an unassisted pull-up. all 250 pounds of me
2. I want to run ALL of a 5K

I have started this already. I have a pull up bar at work and I am doing assisted ones at the gym. the one at work I can MAYBE do an inch. but that is better than nothing

also with the running - I was at the gym yesterday (good thing too as I found out they were NOT open during times I could get to the gym today) and after time on the hamster wheel and lifting weights, I went on the treadmill and did a fast walk. then I went to a solid jog for a minute. I did that 3 times. a year ago I couldn't have done that. Go me! it also got me thinking I could do a 5K and maybe even a 10K - but I figured I would start small

so how about you all? share with us your goals so we can inspire each other :)
